Hi, my name is Claus and I work as a journalist, lecturer and media trainer based in Hamburg/Germany.
Journalism
Since 2008 I work as a reporter and producer for German public TV WDR (Cologne) and NDR (Hamburg) with a focus on economical reporting and internet related topics. From 2001-2007 I worked as an editor and contributor for ARD’s tagesschau.de – the website of Germany’s most watched TV news programme.
Journalism Training / Lecturing
It started by chance but since then became a passion: Conduction trainings for journalists in all areas of online and TV journalism is great fun. Each year together with a co-trainer I conduct a 9 week online and multimedia workshop in English for journalists from Asia and Africa in Berlin for the GIZ. I also teach at Journalism Schools and do in-house trainings for media companies, e.g. for the ARD.ZDF-Medienakademie. Some workshops are listed below:
- How to write compellingly
- Beyond Google – research on the net
- Web Newsletter
- Webwriting / SEO
- Web-Video
- Social Media
- From Youtube to Avid to Podcast – Codecs and Container in professional broadcasting
Recent work includes journalism training and media development projects in Vietnam and at the ASEAN Secretariat in Jakarta/Indonesia.
OTHERS
On behalf of dpa German Press Agency I organized the 2010 media conference “scoopcamp“.
